In a group of posts earlier this week one member at Mythconception headquarters took a shot at Hallam.  The thread was closed after four or five posts then, it disappeared.

In the last couple of days Mythconception took a shot at Rupert of Oz about a post on PAP regarding the use of oyster shells in trickling bio filters. It was a difference of opinion, not much in it, except at the end Mythconception says this.

Rupert generally knows his stuff but he is, to some extent, constrained by the company he keeps. He could discuss his misapprehensions on this forum but he probably feels safer in environments where people know less…..and have less overall experience…..than he does. He may also sense that coming over here might be frowned upon by his patrons on other forums.

He , Mythconception, has obviously chosen to omit that Rupert of Oz has been banned from Mythconception HQ.  Rupert of Oz disagreed once too often with the headmaster and was banned for life.
And the really funny bit, he probably feels safer in environments where people know less.  It must be really hard and a great burden to carry, knowing everything Mythconception?  Just how do you manage?

In this lengthy “he says, I say” post by Mythconception, he goes to great length to analyse every little detail and in a second “he says, I say” post he writes this,

Regardless of the design/type, nitrification will happen most effectively in a bio-filter where the sedimentary and suspended solids loading is minimised.
This is a simple, demonstrable and unequivocal fact (and one which is supported by the overwhelming body of scientific evidence)…..and the failure to acknowledge that is at the heart of the limited productivity and resilience applicable to basic flood and drain systems.

Once again the Mythconception person is making broad sweeping statements. All the scientific evidence is on his side. He knows just about everything and, it would appear that every flood and drain system has limited productivity and resilience.   Says which scientist?  Who? Himself?

We have pointed this out before, he makes claims and provides no evidence.   His claims are, in every case designed to discredit others.
It would appear that this tactic will elevate him as the one and only true Guru.

Mythponics exists because I had the temerity to suggest that some of the things that some people were saying about aquaponics were simply not true.  Interestingly, there is not one technical rebuttal in the entire site – it’s entirely personal.

We are still trying to identify these ground breaking, earth shattering technical issues Mythconception has put forward that he claims the entire rest of the world rejects.  He repeats him self ad infinitum ad nausium re 300mm deep beds and filters.   These issues have been dealt with over and over and over and over again.  Everyone loves different depth grow beds and many have been building systems incorporating filters since day dot.

He says,  “It’s entirely personal”
Well yes it is, that is so true!
Mythconception is repeatedly making personal attacks on Hallam, Malcolm.
Particularly in the case of Hallam.  Please everyone take note of this most recent acid outburst.   He has decided that he has  “outed”  Hallam and launched into a major personal attack like no other we have seen to date.   The only one he continues to “out” is himself.  He very ably demonstrates his sad personality and poor grasp of reality. He has turned nastiness into an art form.

And further, we reveal another mystery.
What is peculiar (and personally embarrassing), however, is that this behaviour (at least in terms of its association with aquaponics) appears to be largely confined to Australian AP forums.
That is so true Mythconception!  Why is that?  We have you!
Isn’t it a strange circumstance that right in the forefront of every disturbance is Mythconception himself.  Isn’t it strange that the first nasty post always starts with Mythconception. This last two posts on his blog are just classic.
Who has the track record of upsetting dozens of forum members wherever you have been?

From a reply to a comment in his blog. I concede that, after five years of having to defend my technical views, I have become more reactive than I would like.  Interesting admission!

When I’ve referred (in forum posts and blog articles) to people who provide substandard equipment, incorrect advice and unrealistic assessments of the product’s capabilities……I wasn’t referring to US companies.
Some of those who are quickest (and loudest) to take issue with others for their business practices are not in a position to throw stones. It would take me five minutes to point you to false performance claims and incorrect technical information on their business sites.

Aquaponics Town’s very own Sheriff Donaldson. He will get all the baddies, loves a shoot out on the main street, fastest gun in the west.

As I said once before in an earlier post, he must have difficulty walking with all the bullet holes in his foot!

I am sorry, I should get back to the technical issues.   Been looking, can’t find any to answer.

Stinking hot today, I think I will go up the coast for a dip.

The evidence lies within itself. Let me explain for those who are “dim of wit”
Gravatars are by their very nature universal. That is the entire idea of Gravitars and how they work.
If indeed it was Hallam who made for himself a Gravitar it would have and would be appearing on all his other sites , all at the same time.   Get it?  Those who are “dim wits”

If you are a member of any of Halam’s sites, has the Gravatar in question appeared anythere there as his Avatar/Gravatar?  If not, then it is most reasonable to conclude that the Gravatar that appeared here did not originate from him.

I actually copied the photo from a page on his web site, and made the Gravatar, but in hindsight not a good thing to do.
How much of a “dim wit” do you have to be to assume that because it was his photograph therefore he must have done it?    Obviously Mythconception is extremely “dim of wit”    This is a splendid example of  “Res ipsa Loquitur”

It is therefore very obvious that I made this Gravatar for this site and to also appear on any other site/blog that I might choose to start.  Hallam obviously had nothing to do with it.

I have emailed Hallam and apologised and received a reply.  He is not too worried and asked me not to do it again, please.  I will very gladly respect his request.

Now lets focus our attention on the supremely stupid blog post on the microponics site.
Mythconception has revealed his true self once again.  Not satisfied with slamming Hallam you will now notice he is turning his attention to Malcolm in his most recent comment : AKA Blane.
It would appear that even Blane/Mythconception is now got some doubt as to the origin of the unfortunate Gravatar and is seeking to draw his other arch enemy into the show.
More about that later.

Right now I have to get ready and take the boys to football.  Running a bit behind, had a heavy night.

The emails to mythponics@gmail.com have been most enlightening. Reading them has been the most fun.
There are so many “insiders” who have sent photos and snippets of information. I am sure I could come up with a book, but I doubt if anyone would buy it.

Mythconception Himself.

I started this blog to try and counter the myths and just plain old “fibbies” being told by the man himself.  We have had some real successes.
I seriously doubt that anyone really changes, so we can fully expect to see Mythconception perform again some time soon.

Insider information sent to me over the months showed in a number of ways that Mythconception has a very small audience.  So why bother with this anymore is the question.

Over at HQ we see very large numbers of visitors, right at this time 8 members and 235 guests. Sadly the guests are mostly bots.  Number of posts is the real indicator of how well a forum is going and the three other significant forums each have almost double the daily posts of HQ.
Website valuation/traffic sites reveal just how much traffic is actually happening.
See these sites and type in the half dozen or so aquaponics sites you know of and see the results. You will be surprised.

Compare the traffic as well as the value of each site. I am not sure if the values are actually real, but it serves to show a relative comparison of traffic and value.

It is very obvious which site is really being read, every day, all around the world!

The kids are going to be late again.  Too much time spent on something that nobody reads.

Or did  Mythconception gave him the flick ?

Paul (Crusty) has advised me that he’s going to be unavailable for a while……largely due to his professional commitments.
The reaction to some of his recent posts has also caused him to question whether he wants to contribute his knowledge in light of the treatment that he has received.
His concern was not with APHQ members but (given that anyone can see APHQ material) that he was helping to educate the very people who were attacking him.
To that end, he has asked to me delete his threads…….a request with which I have reluctantly agreed.

Got to get to Coles and pick up some mince for a BBQ tonight.

Here he takes a chop at CHOP 2 with his characteristic name calling or attaching derogatory labels.

Don’t despair, you can resolve the CHOP2 issues fairly simply by inserting a solids filter into the line from the fish tank to the sump. That will eliminate the poop soup condition that is the principal failing of CHOP2…..and it will avoid the need for you to clean solids out of the sump.

A little amusing coming from one who has not even run a CHOP 2 system, or even seen one working, but as usual he pontificates.

Some pretty nasty comments about a You Tube video from WA came from Mythconceptions mate Crusty.  They have mysteriously vanished from good old HQ and the thread locked.

Once again, “the worlds most open forum” is getting back into full swing.

The rain is on the way back in again.

There you have it. Looks like Mythconception is not all that important, but no doubt will continue to provide some hilarity to our busy lives. The important thing to consider is that his machinations produce traffic for his forum so he will, as reliable as ever, continue.

Perhaps we can have some suggestions as to what may next excite him. Will it be more of the 300mm deep thing, or filters.
Will it will be the dreadful kit makers; or perhaps something new?

The poll will be taken down in a few days. I will leave it there for a bit longer to verify what this post says.
